Bentley Richards has been involved in Real estate acquisition and management for the past 19 years. In 2001 Bentley started buying apartment buildings in Los Angeles County. The first was a 42 unit in Alhambra where he began self-managing units. The next acquisition was in Pasadena, CA. From there he spread to Westwood, Ca., Koreatown, and Hollywood. He then grew the business from 42 units in 1 state to 1800 units in 4 states by 2008. These included 7 multifamily apartment buildings along with a mobile home park. He and his office staff oversaw the daily management and financials for the units.
Currently he has pared back the real estate holdings to under 800 units and has moved his capital into the private money-lending world through Agoura Hills Financial. Over the past 10 years he and his partner Rod Hecker have written/brokered over $75 million in loans and currently have a servicing portfolio of $33 million. Bentley leveraged his real estate background and connections to the mortgage industry into a successful boutique lending company. Agoura Hills Financial writes loans on commercial, industrial, multi-family, office and retail spaces. They also finance non-owner occupied fix n flips. Mr. Hecker and Mr. Richards now spend their time managing the existing real estate along with the private money lending.
Garret Hecker is a CSUN Alumni with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. From there Garret obtained his real estate license in 2019 and his broker’s license in 2022 and immediately began working in investor relations and lead generation of loans. As of October 2021, Garret became a partner of the business.
